When you don’t have the time or assets for a house cleaning, the best way to keep your house feeling good:
1. Keep your dishes under control. After meals or snacks, have a rule amongst your family that all family rinses off their dishes and put them straight into the dishwasher. NO sink dropping! This easy tip can save you the time-consuming and tedious task of scrubbing once food has dried to the plate. Accomplishing this as a family is so rewarding and so worth it!
2. Make your bed! After arriving home after a busy day at school or work, walking into a messy room is the worst way to end a day. Arriving in a freshly made room with an inviting resting space makes an unbelievable difference in your daily routine! Teach your kids while they’re young and they’ll integrate it into theirs too!
3. Remove your shoes and leave them at the door. This may seem smug or inconvenient, but this simple tip can make the world of a difference in keeping your home clean and healthy. Shoes travel so many places: school, gas stations, gyms, etc. Shoes can track in unwanted dirt, pesticides, and germs. Get a basket for storage, and set up a seating area!
4. Put clothes away. This one may seem like a given, but tossing dirty clothes in a closed hamper, and folding freshly done laundry (& putting it away!) tackles clutter in most homes! Minimize your clothing selection can assist in this process. Stick to a laundry schedule so your week is predictable and clothes are ready for the week!
If you continually complete these four tips, your house will be looking and feeling better immediately! Although a deep cleaning may not be manageable, these few simple things can make a huge difference!
